About the Instructor
Sculpture Martine Vaugel bronze figure portrait Sculpting classes workshops France USA Martine Vaugel has been showing and selling her work since 1973 She is the only woman to have won (2) Rodin Grand Prize Exhibition Awards for Monumental Figure Sculpture, (1990 & 1992). Her work can be found in Japan’s Hakone and Utsi Guch ga Hara Open Air Museums, The Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, The Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art, The New Tate Modern Museum, the Rockefeller Collections, the collections of Presidents’ Carter, Aquino, Gorbachev, Reagan and Bush, as well as Mayor Tom Bradley, Mother Teresa, Sir Richard Attenborough, the former World Trade Center in NYC. and at the Patsouris Plaza in the City of Los Angeles.

Martine Vaugel has been teaching portrait and figure sculpture since 1976 when she founded the Venice Sculpture Studio and co-founded the Venice Painting, Drawing and Sculpture Studio in Los Angeles. It became a Mecca for many international artists and musicians, as well as Instructors who came from Norway, Israel, Rumania, Italy, France, Canada, and the U.S. In 1986 she was invited to be Sculpture Director of the New York Academy of Art and left Los Angeles.

In 1989 she opened her Sculpture Program in France because of her belief that intense instruction is best received in a relaxed secure environment, coupled with her strong affinity for French Classical Sculpture.
